The Guardia Civil, as part of the actions carried out against home robberies, has developed the Cabestro operation, in which one person has been arrested and another is being investigated for his alleged involvement in numerous thefts inside homes located in Mijas and Marbella.

The investigation began after discovering that several burglaries had taken place inside high-priced homes in both towns. The assailants studied the properties, used as second homes and, taking advantage of the owners' absence, they entered the properties, mainly stealing the jewellery and money that they might be saving.

Following the investigations, the alleged perpetrator was located and a search was carried out at a house in Mijas, where jewellery from various robberies and 14,695 euros in cash were recovered. In addition, various tools, clothes and a motorbike used by the perpetrator to commit the robberies were seized.

For these offences, this person was arrested and a woman was investigated. Both were taken to the Fuengirola Duty Court, and the man was remanded in custody. This operation was carried out by members of the Mijas Civil Guard.
