The CAC Mijas inaugurated last Thursday an exhibition by 30 new Finnish artists promoted by the Eva International Art Gallery in Helsinki, whose owner is Eeva Kulmala. This is the second time Finnish artists are exhibiting their works at the CAC Mijas.
As the director of CAC Mijas, Javier Fructuoso, explained, "it is a very interesting gallery because as well as having works by recognised artists such as Dalí and Picasso, the gallery also exhibits works by new painters, new talents". Who also added that, "new painters need help to promote themselves, as the galleries have a high cost for them. Both the Remedios Medina Foundation and Eva International support new artists".
Figurative paintings, landscapes and all kinds of techniques can be seen in this exhibition. Ink on plexiglass, watercolours, acrylics on canvas, oils and even gold and silver leaf on mixed techniques create a very varied and colourful exhibition. Some 35 paintings will be on display until the 18th of June.
Kulmala said that "CAC Mijas feels like a very nice and good place that also has an important art collection. It is a real honour for me to be here". Last year was the first edition of this exhibition which lasted eight days. Finnish artists liked the CAC and Mijas so much that this year they wanted to celebrate a second edition, but this time lasting 14 days.
