The complex includes, among other things, an 18-hole golf course, a five-star hotel and 350 tourist flats.

On May 9th, the Provincial Town Planning Commission approved the Valle del Golf Resort project for publication in the BOJA, although several corrections were pending, as reported last Wednesday 29th in the ordinary plenary session by the councillor for the area, Lourdes Burgos (PP). "To be able to conclude all the bureaucratic matters involved in this project, that will be so beneficial for the municipality in the future, we only need to complete this step: to approve the taking into consideration, because the plenary is the competent body to approve this element modification and to publish it in the BOJA, a publication which has already been made by the Junta de Andalucía and is now pending for the municipal administration", explained Burgos during her speech.

The item was presented to the plenary through the urgency procedure and was approved unanimously. "Our group has always supported this project. We understand that it will also be important for our municipality and once it is developed not only from the tourist point of view but also from the point of view of employment generation", said the spokesman of the municipal group Ciudadanos in Mijas Town Hall, José Carlos Martín.

The next step for the implementation of the project of tourist interest of the Valle del Golf Resort will be its publication by the Town Hall in the BOJA in June.

The Valle del Golf Resort includes an 18-hole course, a school and a practice tee, as well as a five-star hotel with 156 rooms and a development of 350 tourist flats. It will be located on a 1,024,000 square metre plot in the Cortijo Los Ortejones, an area between La Cala and Entrerríos. The project also includes the widening of roads from La Cala to Entrerríos, with a 26-metre extension, car parks and the installation of electric charging stations for vehicles. A 60 million investment was estimated in the initial project, when the number of jobs that the project would create was calculated at 400.
