About 30 people participated

The area for Family and Equal Opportunities celebrated yesterday, the International Day of Action for Women's Health. The first activity was a walk along the coastal path in which about 30 people participated.

There is nothing better than starting the day with a walk, as this exercise helps to activate and strengthen the cardiovascular system, as well as helping to eliminate cholesterol. These are not the only advantages, this simple, economical and healthy habit also helps to reduce the risk of depression and other problems such as anxiety. For these and many other reasons, Mijas Town Hall has organised this walk on the occasion of the International Day of Action for Women's Health.

The councillor for health, Marcos Cortes attended the event and pointed out that "in order to have good health it is important to exercise".

In addition, during the almost 5 kilometre run, Juan Luis Vega Rodriguez, a municipal environmental technician, explained some of the environmental features of our coastline.
