From April 19th to 21st, the Candelaria Park in Las Lagunas will be transformed into a large circus market themed in the 1920s which will host endless activities and proposals for the whole family to enjoy.  

This was presented this morning by the Councillor for Public Areas, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP), who explained the different proposals that will be included in the initiative. There will be different workshops, more than 50 playful tables, live music, as well as a dance and fire show with juggling and acrobatic fabrics so characteristic of the circus world: "This is a very attractive proposal to enjoy with the family and that until now Mijas had not had the opportunity to enjoy an initiative of these characteristics. In addition, the fact that it is being held in the Candelaria Park encourages the revitalisation of this area of Las Lagunas, where there is a large number of people wanting activities of this kind", said the councillor.  

During his speech, Alarcón indicated that "this is a very new activity because, in the sector of thematic markets, the circus had not been present in the south of Andalusia, which is why Mijas is one of the few municipalities that has promoted it, which is why it will be a great attraction".  

Circus activities

Throughout the weekend, the park of La Candelaria will be the setting for circus workshops, balancing acts, circus masks, face painting, balloon twisting, jugglers, puppets and soap bubbles, as well as almost fifty stalls run by 'merchants' where you can buy handicrafts, gastronomy and goldsmithery products that will complete this leisure and family event.  

Finally, Alarcón encouraged all the people of Mijas to participate in this circus market which, for sure, will provide attendees with an unforgettable day. 

From the organisation of the event, Leandro Losa, spokesman for the company Malik, thematic markets, said that "we have been working for months with the council on the organisation of this great market. It will occupy the entire square, as more than 45 stalls will be set up, and we will also have play tables for families. There will be gastronomy, workshops and shows. It will be a great event for the whole family.
