7 pentathlon specialists have spent 2 weeks in Mijas preparing for the competitions that could give them the Olympic ticket to Paris 2024

7 athletes and 3 coaches from the Trion S.C. club, part of the Hungarian sports elite, have been training for two weeks at the sports centre in La Cala de Mijas.  Their speciality is the Olympic pentathlon, and one of the modalities, apart from horse riding, shooting, swimming and athletics, is fencing.  "Mijas offers fantastic possibilities for this type of athlete, they can train here in fencing, run on the track of the racecourse, prepare for swimming in the sea or the indoor pool... for us it is a luxury that athletes of this level share training with the fencers of Sala Adalid", commented Luis Hernanz, director of the Sala Adalid, at the training session.  "They come to prepare for competitions that can qualify them for the Olympic Games in Paris. We have, among others, the European U-24 Champion, Rita Erdös".  Pentathlon is a sport with a military tradition, and is very important in Hungary.  With the exception of Tuesday, they have enjoyed very good weather and, in addition to the sporting effort, they have taken the opportunity to visit other areas and get to know the Spanish culture.
