She has always worked with children in her spare time and has always felt the urge to help those who need it most. This is how we could introduce Helle Tychsen, a retired Danish woman living in our municipality who, for more than 10 years, has been collaborating with 'Cruz Roja Mijas' (Red Cross Mijas) to share out smiles and, in this case, gifts to those families in Mijas who are not going through the best of times, making their Christmas a little happier.

"I love Spain very much and I owe a lot to this country. That is why, although I am getting older, I try to help where ever I can and during the year I buy toys, not on my own, but thanks to the help of my family, my friends and the members of the Danish Club in Mijas", explained Tychsen.

This year, her solidarity contribution has translated into up to 220 new presents, which were delivered to 'Cruz Roja Mijas' last Friday 22nd, perfectly wrapped and ready for distribution.

"We have spent several afternoons preparing the packages at the Danish club's headquarters and, among the people who have lent a hand, I would especially like to thank Anette Skou because she has always been a great help to me", said this member of the Danish club.

Throughout her life, Helle has also promoted other similar and equally necessary projects in countries such as Africa and Greenland.
