This Monday, Bruno Caprile, a fifth year student at the María Zambrano school, literally flew. He did so in a helicopter as the winner of a drawing competition to mark the 50th anniversary of the Guardia Civil air service. The event created great excitement among all the students, as it took off and landed from the school playground. 

Excited... this is how the little boy was moments before receiving his prize. He himself told us how he became the winner of the competition, "which I won out of all the children in the school". With a nervous laugh, Bruno told us what his drawing reflects, "a mountain rescue by the Guardia Civil in which the hikers were trapped on a very steep mountain and had to call the Guardia Civil because they couldn't get down". 

This is one of the different ways in which the Guardia Civil is celebrating the half century of its air service. This was confirmed by the Chief of the Air Unit of the Civil Guard in Malaga, Juan Lopez Urbaneja, who stressed that one of the different activities we are doing is visiting schools and it has been decided on this, we did another in Nerja, and the truth is that the kids love it.

Jose Taboada, second lieutenant of the Guardia Civil air unit in Malaga and his captain, Luis Miranda, were the ones who flew Bruno in this aircraft, "a helicopter model Dauphin ASN 365, it is a medium helicopter, very versatile, prepared for maritime surveillance, which is the service we mainly carry out with it in the province of Malaga, but we also provide other services with it such as support to Seprona, support to investigation teams or in sporting or political events", said Miranda.

The Guardia Civil air service unit in Malaga is made up of 7 pilots, 6 mechanics, 2 camera operators and a senior officer. With this activity they also aim to bring the Civil Guard closer to the children and they, as you can see, were delighted, as all the pupils were able to have their photos taken with the helicopter. This was corroborated by the school's director, Raúl Ávila, who stressed that "we are very happy and excited to have this opportunity for the whole educational community to enjoy the Civil Guard's air service, as we are not used to having them so close, and to learn about the important work that this force does for the citizens, in terms of protecting us and providing us with security".
