The Lions Club of La Cala has once again shown its solidarity and support to those people and groups in the municipality who need it. On this occasion, the 'lions' have donated 1,000 euros to the Association of Patients with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and other Rheumatic Diseases (Apaffer), which has its headquarters in Las Lagunas. The association's president, Mercedes González, wanted to "thank the club for counting on us and for these 1,000 euros of aid, which are great for us to be able to continue with our therapies. We can only say thank you".

This donation comes as a result of one of the members of the La Cala club, Anita Van Gelder, who is also a user of Apaffer. "I have fibromyalgia and it is because of me that we help the association. Every week I come to their headquarters to receive my physiotherapy sessions and I like it very much because I feel at home here", said Van Gelder. The president of the Lions Club, Brenda Meredith, pointed out that "we have been helping Apaffer for many years. If they need funds for something they come to us and we are there. One of our members is a user and asked us if we could help them. We said yes immediately.

The councillor for Social Inclusion, Melisa Ceballos (PP), also attended the presentation of the cheque and declared that "it is very important that the associations unite and collaborate with each other. I encourage them to do so".
