In approximately three months, the company Costasol, part of the Carrefour group, will open the doors of this large hypermarket, which will cover an area of around 5,000 square metres between the first phase, currently under construction, and the second phase, which will be launched from 2024. The mayor of Mijas, Josele González, thanked the company for its firm commitment to our municipality, also increasing the services for and the quality of life of the citizens.

The first phase will cover about 2,500 metres of sales area and 500 parking spaces, of which 14 will offer fast charging for electric vehicles. The initial proposal will focus on food, including the restaurant areas offered by the chain and giving special prominence to products from Malaga and Andalusia. 

For this first phase, almost one hundred direct and indirect contracts will be created. Mijas Town Hall will collaborate in the selection of the staff. 

After the pre-selection of the employees there will be another process of theoretical and practical training in the Fomento del Empleo building and in other Carrefour hypermarkets in the area. Of the almost one hundred new posts that are foreseen, around twenty will be for internal promotion. 

For the second phase, planned for 2024, Carrefour will incorporate the bazaar, gardening, household appliances and textile sections, among others, creating another fifty direct and indirect jobs.
