A group of 40 people from the municipality will visit the Mundo river, Albacete, Ayna or Alcalá del Júcar, among other places with great historical heritage.

Mijas is packing its bags. As announced by the Councillor for Culture, Verónica Ensberg (PSOE), the town has everything ready for a cultural trip to what is known as La Mancha Switzerland, in the province of Albacete.

"After several years without being carried out and being a proposal demanded by the Mijeños, we have resumed the cultural trips. We wanted to find a trip that brings together nature, heritage and oenology, with quality at an affordable price", says the councillor, who has advanced that the trip will be "from October 3rd to 6th to what is known as the Swiss Mancha, visiting the River Mundo, Ayna, Albacete, Alcalá del Júcar, Chinchilla de Montearagón and Calasparra".

The trip includes bus transfer, accompanying guide, insurance, bed and breakfast at the Hotel Beatriz (4 stars), all meals in different restaurants, a local guide in Alarcón and guided visit to the Balmoral Winery. The price is 350 euros and those interested must reserve their place before September 11th.

The reservation fee of 100 euros must be paid into the account ES53 3058 0778 7210 2181 1617 and in the concept put the name and surname and the reference G/13371. Once the deposit has been made, registration must be confirmed by calling the Culture Department on 952 590 380 or by email to cultura@mijas.es.

"It is a fantastic opportunity to get to know a cultural environment which is not very well known, during these days of coexistence with neighbours, family and friends and which covers everything without exceeding us in long journeys", stresses the councillor, "for this reason, I encourage all residents in Mijas interested in attending this cultural trip to sign up because I am sure it will be unforgettable". For his part, the head of the Department for Culture, Francisco Gutiérrez, said that "from the delegation we always try to design trips that are a little out of the ordinary", adding that the Swiss Mancha "is an area where we will not find crowds of tourists but travellers, it is a land that invites you to enjoy it quietly, with a very different concept to the tourist".
