The Association for Persons with Disabilities in Mijas (Adimi) has received a new donation from a foreign group, The Arts Society Costa Sol, a group that has been involved in culture and art for more than 35 years. The organisation has managed to raise 750 euros, which they donated to Adimi at an event held on Monday 8th of May at the Salón Varietes. According to Gudrum Lund-Andersen, social events secretary at The Arts Society, "the club has received 250 euros for this donation from our headquarters in England. We at the Costa del Sol branch have raised a further 500 euros to bring the total to 750 euros donated to Adimi". 

The group organises and celebrates various events throughout the year through dinners, trips and cultural activities for its members. With the proceeds they help different groups and collectives on the coast. Their relationship with Adimi began 10 years ago. According to Adimi's manager, Laura Villa, "our relationship is long-standing, even from when we were in the old headquarters. There, they began to make donations every year to our association, more or less of the same amount, and this collaboration has been maintained over time. They not only make these donations, but they also often organise workshops and art courses for our users".

This money will be used for the purchase of educational material by Adimi. The association has shown "its enormous gratitude for the trust, support and constancy of this entity with Adimi's work, and we are proud to know that we will continue to count on their help and support in the future", stated Villa. Other groups such as Nadfas and La Logia, entities that collaborate with this association, were also present at the ceremony to present this new solidarity cheque. 

The Arts Society is based in London but is internationally represented. Here in Malaga, they have had a branch on the Costa del Sol for 10 years, but also in other locations such as Benahavís, Nerja, Sotogrande and Gibraltar.
