According to the council for Parks and Gardens, it is a sustainable and safe facility that is subject to regular health checks

The Mijas Town Hall has brought forward the opening of the aquatic facilities of the Water Park in Las Cañadas to combat the high temperatures that are already being experienced in the municipality. From last Friday, and until the 30th of September, initially from 10:00 to 20:00 hours, families will be able to enjoy this space. "I urge everyone to come and make use of the Water Park whenever they want, as soon as the children get out of school, they will find it open", said the councillor for Parks and Gardens, Laura Moreno (PSOE), who clarified that "this timetable only affects the water games circuit and not the park, which will remain open until later".

As for the water games circuit, the Parks and Gardens Department assures that it is a safe and sustainable enclosure, which is regularly checked. "It has a non-slip pavement, suitable for being used with water and to avoid falls and I would also like to remind everybody that the water circuit is closed, and that it only works when a button is pressed to ensure that this installation is not used irresponsibly", said Moreno. For his part, the head of Parks and Gardens, Diego González, assured that "the water is constantly analysed, a chemical control system measures the pH levels and the conductivity of the water, chlorine is added and measured so that it is within the safety levels, there is also a biological control carried out to measure bacteria that could contaminate the water" and he added that "in addition to our controls, there are health checks carried out by the 'Regional Government', meaning that safety in this area is also guaranteed.

The councillor for Parks and Gardens, finally, asked families to use the installation responsibly and reminded them that the use of balloons is only permitted outside the water games area to avoid breakdowns in the installation: "They should be careful because they can block the system and in the end we find ourselves with a water park open in summer, but constantly closed because of breakdowns due to the balloons".
