The Las Lagunas fairground will be the stage chosen to kick off the Christmas festivities this Friday, 2nd of December, at 17:30. This was announced by the mayor, Josele González (PSOE), and the councillor for Festivities, Tamara Vera (PSOE). 
It will be a day "that will be marked by the musical performance by ‘Las Carlotas’ who will entertain this traditional Christmas lights inauguration, which this year will be presided over by a large arch of lights some 50 metres long. The evening will also mark the start of an extensive calendar of Christmas activities that will reach every corner of our municipality", said the mayor. A great party "in which there will be activities for all the family, as this year we will also have a great novelty, which many residents have been asking for, which is the large ice rink that will open its doors on the 2nd of December for the use and enjoyment of all those who come along", added González.

As explained by the councillor for ‘Fiestas’, "this will finally be a Christmas without restrictions that we can enjoy together with the ‘Mijeños’ and ‘Mijeñas’, in what will be a year marked by an extensive programme that will begin on the 2nd from 17:30 hours at the fairground in Las Lagunas, where we will share the spirit of Christmas with young and old". A great party for the whole family that will end with a concert by ‘Las Carlotas’ and which will include, in addition to the performance, "an ice rink, a gastronomic area and children's games, and a variety of attractions such as free bouncy castles for the youngest members of the family", added Vera. 

For all these reasons, the Town Hall invites you to enjoy this special day which will mark the beginning of the 2022 Christmas programme and encourages the people of Mijas to follow the municipal information and social networks of the Town Hall "to continue to know in detail everything that is still to be discovered during these special festivities".
