The Mijas Town Hall, through the Employment Promotion Department, announced on Wednesday, the 5th, that 118 Mijas residents will be hired in the coming weeks as part of the Youth Employment Promotion initiative in the ‘Joven Ahora’ (Youth Now) area. According to the Mayor of the town, Josele González (PSOE), and the Councillor responsible, Laura Moreno (PSOE), the plan will be implemented with a total investment of 1,062,000 euros. “From the Town Hall, we do not want to miss any opportunity to generate employment in our municipality. For this reason, we are hiring 118 unemployed young people between 18 and 29 through this plan. The positions are varied: bricklayers and labourers, electricians, plumbers, forestry workers, gardeners, or administrative assistants, useful jobs in the social context in the Costa del Sol,” said the Mijas Councillor, who invited all unemployed young people in the municipality “to approach the SAE to register in the occupation codes for each position, and the Employment Promotion building in case you need more information on these contracts.
As González underlined, these new hires “continue with the active employment policy from the Town Hall. It adds to the Basic Income programme that generates opportunities for people at risk of social exclusion every year. Also, the Mijas Impulsa programme helps and the much-needed collaboration we always promote with private entities that trust the Employment Promotion department to make their hires in our town”.
