The Mijas Fair, in honour of the patron saint of the municipality, the Virgen de la Peña, says goodbye to six days of fair, in which the keynote has been the joy in the streets. The last day, held this Sunday, began with the traditional bicycle route through the Mijas streets, continuing with the daytime fair at La Muralla, where the Rompeolas orchestra and the LongPlay band performed and where the " Fair funky King and Queen" were also chosen. The town council offered chocolate and doughnuts to all those present to bid farewell to the festivities.

The night culminated in the fairgrounds with the Sevillian group 'Siempre Así', who put the perfect finishing touch to the Mijeña fair that is ending successfully after two years without being able to be held due to the pandemic.

Particularly special was the day of 8th September, the day of the patron saint of Mijas, the Virgen de la Peña, who walked through the village streets  accompanied by numerous locals and visitors, this procession being one of the most crowded in living memory.

The performances in the Municipal and Youth Stands were well received by the public, with concerts by María Peláe, Medina Azahara and Rasel, among other artists and groups. The parallel activities organised by the Fiestas Commission were equally successful, including a dinner in tribute to the elderly, the election of the king and queen of the Mijas Fair, the bull run with inflatable bulls and the bicycle ride through the streets of the town.
