The Age Care Association had been unable to hold its summer lunch for two years due to the pandemic. A tradition that today, Tuesday, has finally been recovered at the Los Olivos Restaurant in Calahonda. Sixty diners attended this 2022 summer lunch in a humble but important meeting for the foreign association’s members. Arancha López (Cs), Councillor for the Mijas Foreigners Department, went to the event to show “the area’s support in any way they need, as their work is very important”. In addition, “we want to thank them for all the supportive work that Age Care carries out through volunteers”. Age Care attends to the needs of the Mijas elderly foreigners who may need support to be looked after. This work is carried out selflessly with the help of the Mijas Town Hall. As its public relations officer, Palema Dubsky recalls: “ours is an association to help the foreign community in Mijas, whether they come from England, Germany, Denmark... from any country”. In this sense, López recalls that “ we provide support in their daily lives, such as something as simple as accompanying them to the hospital, arranging a doctor’s appointment, helping them if they need lunch to be taken home...”.
