Almost 200 kilos of solidarity. This is the amount of food that Carrefour Las Lagunas has contributed to the María Zambrano Sector-31 Neighbourhood Association, which, over the last few days, has been working to collect food and material for the Ukrainian people. “We have a very supportive neighbourhood, but this time the whole town and other people from outside the municipality have come out in support of this cause", says the treasurer of the group, Mari Ángeles Serrano.

These products will be delivered to the Ukrainian Association Maydan Málaga this Wednesday. It will be responsible for delivering them to the refugees who are in the area of the border with Poland. Once again, Mijas is showing its most supportive side. The Councillor for Volunteering, Mariló Olmedo (Cs), thanked the citizens for this gesture. "Mijas people are showing their infinite solidarity as all the associations and AMPAS are collecting food and material, and citizens have come to the collection points of the Town Hall. The truth is that everyone has turned to this aid to Ukraine to collect many tons, which we are sending from here," said the Councillor.

With the same aim, Carrefour is collaborating with other Associations such as Aguja Solidaria, which has also received products from this supermarket in Las Lagunas donated by the Mijas residents. One of its volunteers, Bernardino Sánchez, stated that "the help received has been extraordinary, especially from the normal people who are the ones who have collaborated the most and we are very grateful to them".
