You can now request an appointment for the first vaccination for five-year-olds

  • Requests can be made through ClicSalud+, Salud Responde and at the health centres, preferably by telephone
  • Throughout Andalusia, the vaccination of children between 5 and 11 years of age continues |

From today, Tuesday 11th, people aged 55 and over can go to the vaccination points without an appointment if they are due a booster dose

Children aged five years, i.e. those who were born in 2016, can now make an appointment for the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Andalusia has already opened the self-appointment agenda for this age group, which can be requested through the SAS website, via ClicSalud+; on the mobile application and the Salud Responde telephone number (955 54 50 60) and also at health centres, preferably by telephone. In children, the specific Pfizer preparation, in addition to containing a smaller amount of active ingredient, separates the two doses by an interval of eight weeks instead of three. Throughout Andalusia, vaccinations will continue to be carried out in the 11 to 5 age group, mainly in health centres and external points, although mobile units are also scheduled to intervene.

In addition, on Monday 10th, the self-appointment of the booster dose was opened for people aged 53 and 52 (those who were born in 1968 and 1969) and tomorrow, Wednesday 12th, it will be opened for those aged 51 and 50 (those who were born in 1970 and 1971). In addition, from today, Tuesday 11th, people aged 55 and over who have not yet received a booster dose, those who have received a Janssen dose or the AstraZeneca regimen, as well as people aged 12 and over who have not yet received their first or second dose, can go to the vaccination points without an appointment.

Booster dose
For adults, this third booster dose is indicated if six months have passed since the second dose of messenger RNA (Pfizer or Moderna) was administered, three months since the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine and three months since vaccination with Janssen. In the third dose, messenger RNA vaccines will be administered.

Finally, in people under 65 years of age pending any dose of vaccine (first, second or booster), it should be taken into account if COVID-19 has recently been passed, as it is preferable to wait four weeks for vaccination after the infection has occurred or been diagnosed. From 65 years of age onwards, the four-week waiting period is not necessary, simply that the person is well and out of isolation.
