Soroptimist International (SI) of Europe has granted the scholarship SIE 2021, for 5.000 euros, to a student from the University of Málaga (UMA), Elena Enciso Martínez. She is a young architect, student of the doctoral program: City, Territory and Sustainable Planification of the Málaga University. Enciso’s investigation project is focused on analysing the emergency temporary housing offered in Spain to migrants arriving to the country by sea. Her social vision of architecture has been the key for her project to be chosen by the SI Costa del Sol in Mijas and elected by the scholarship committee of the SI  European Federation. The meeting in which 27 women were chosen to receive this SIE scholarship for the course 2021-2022 was celebrated virtually in June, during a ceremony where the scholarships were approved – for a total of 100.000 euros. SI Costa del Sol is now working in the selection process for new candidates to this scholarship. Soroptimist International (SI) Costa del Sol has been supporting students from the University of Málaga for a number of years.
